Frequently Asked Questions

1. If you already have artwork or are arranging your own artwork files, here a few tips for providing the file format required for print:

  • We accept most correctly prepared press ready file formats for printing, but best results are usually achieved by supplying Print Ready PDF or Ai or EPS files with 3mm bleed, if applicable.

  • Bleed – that is images or background colours that print to the edge of the page, they must extend 3mm beyond the edge of the page on the artwork in order to avoid a possible visible white line along the guillotined edges of the finished product.

  • With images and text, which do not bleed, they must be placed no closer than 4mm from the trimmed edge of the page.

  • Ensure all images provided are high resolution, we recommend using images that are 300dpi.

  • Outline or embed fonts before sending them to print. Alternatively, send through the fonts used, together with the artwork.

  • When preparing the final artwork for print, include crop marks.

  • Make sure the document size is correct.

  • Ensure all files are supplied in CMYK . CMYK stands for cyan, magenta, yellow, and key, or black. These are the four colours of ink used in the traditional method of printing, and what we print.

2. What is a proof and will I need to see a proof if I have already supplied Artwork ?

All orders will receive a soft proof for approval prior to scheduling printing .

So that you can confirm, we are printing the correct file and that the trim marks are in the correct location.

A proof is a way of ensuring that we have set your type accurately and that everything is positioned according to your requirements.

It benefits everyone if errors are caught in the proofing process, rather than after the job is completed and delivered.

Printing will not commence until a proof has been approved for printing.

3. One of our most commonly asked questions is, do you do print names and numbers onto Jerseys?
